Dr. Ehesan Ali

Computational Chemist & Innovator

Dr. Ehesan Ali, the founder of “Dr Ali’s AIRA,” is a renowned professor in computational nanoscience who heads the Quantum Materials and Devices Unit at the Institute of Nano Science and Technology (INST) in Mohali. He completed his PhD in Computational Chemistry at the Indian Institute of Technology‑Bombay in 2007. Dr. Ali has gained substantial international experience through his work at institutions such as Uppsala University in Sweden (2007–2009 and 2013–2014), Ruhr‑University Bochum in Germany (2009–2012), and University College London in the United Kingdom (2014–2015).

His research centers on using advanced computational techniques and data‑driven approaches to identify new magnetic materials for spintronic devices, design spin‑based quantum sensors, enhance computational structural biology, and leverage high‑performance computing along with AI and machine learning for drug discovery.

Research Opportunities

Join our lab to work on high‑throughput, data‑driven computational research with modern workflows and HPC resources.

We are currently recruiting highly motivated, enthusiastic, and bright individuals for:

  • Ph.D. positions — cutting‑edge computational research using high‑throughput, data‑driven methodologies and state‑of‑the‑art facilities.
  • Postdoctoral fellowships — lead independent projects, collaborate across disciplines, and mentor junior researchers.
  • Internships — hands‑on exposure to modern computational workflows and scientific software engineering.
    • • Generate research proposals based on your ideas with AI assistance.
    • Collaboration and Consultancy
